Business email on a Namecheap domain
How to connect a Namecheap domain to SyncGaze Mail. Namecheap keeps MX records in a separate "Mail Settings" section, which is the step most people miss.
The records SyncGaze needs
Open dashboard.syncgaze.in → Domains → your domain. It lists these records with your exact values and a Copy button next to each. The table shows what they look like for yourcompany.com.
| Type | Name / Host | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| TXT | _syncgaze-verify | syncgaze-verify=… (from your dashboard) | Proves you own the domain |
| MX | @ | mail.syncgaze.in · priority 10 | Delivers your mail to SyncGaze |
| TXT | @ | v=spf1 mx a:mail.syncgaze.in ip4:157.173.222.40 ~all | SPF: lets SyncGaze send as you |
| TXT | dkim._domainkey | v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=… (your own key, from the dashboard) | DKIM: signs your mail |
| TXT | _dmarc | v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; rua=mailto:dmarc@syncgaze.in | DMARC: stops people faking your address |
Only one MX provider and one SPF recordDelete any other MX records, so mail doesn't keep going to your old provider. A domain can have only one TXT record starting with v=spf1. If one already exists, replace it, or merge the two.
Step by step in Namecheap
- Sign in, open Domain List and click Manage next to your domain. Then open the Advanced DNS tab.
- Scroll to Mail Settings and change the dropdown from Email Forwarding or Private Email to Custom MX.
- Add one MX row with Host
@, Valuemail.syncgaze.in, Priority10. Click the green tick to save it. - Under Host Records, click Add New Record → TXT Record for each of these:
- Host
_syncgaze-verify: the verification value - Host
@: the SPF value (edit the existingv=spf1row if there is one) - Host
dkim._domainkey: your DKIM key - Host
_dmarc: the DMARC value
- Host
- Click Save All Changes.
Namecheap-specific problems
- No Advanced DNS tab, or the records do nothing. Your nameservers aren't Namecheap BasicDNS. Shared hosting uses its own nameservers, so add the records in that host's cPanel → Zone Editor instead.
- Mail still goes to Namecheap forwarding. Email Forwarding was still selected in Mail Settings, and it adds its own
eforwardMX records. Switch to Custom MX. - The DKIM value is rejected. Paste it as one line with no quotes and no line breaks.
Verify and test
- Wait 5–30 minutes after saving. Most changes show up within minutes, but some take up to a few hours.
- Go back to dashboard.syncgaze.in → Domains and click Verify. Each record turns green when SyncGaze can see it.
- Run a free check on mail.syncgaze.in/check. It reads your MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records and explains anything still missing.
- Send a test email to a Gmail address and open Show original. It should show
SPF: PASS,DKIM: PASSandDMARC: PASS.
