Business email on a domain that uses Cloudflare
If your domain's DNS is on Cloudflare, add SyncGaze Mail's records in the Cloudflare dashboard, even when you bought the domain somewhere else. If Cloudflare Email Routing is on, turn it off first.
The records SyncGaze needs
Open dashboard.syncgaze.in → Domains → your domain. It lists these records with your exact values and a Copy button next to each. The table shows what they look like for yourcompany.com.
| Type | Name / Host | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| TXT | _syncgaze-verify | syncgaze-verify=… (from your dashboard) | Proves you own the domain |
| MX | @ | mail.syncgaze.in · priority 10 | Delivers your mail to SyncGaze |
| TXT | @ | v=spf1 mx a:mail.syncgaze.in ip4:157.173.222.40 ~all | SPF: lets SyncGaze send as you |
| TXT | dkim._domainkey | v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=… (your own key, from the dashboard) | DKIM: signs your mail |
| TXT | _dmarc | v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; rua=mailto:dmarc@syncgaze.in | DMARC: stops people faking your address |
Only one MX provider and one SPF recordDelete any other MX records, so mail doesn't keep going to your old provider. A domain can have only one TXT record starting with v=spf1. If one already exists, replace it, or merge the two.
Step by step in Cloudflare
- If you use Email Routing (Email → Email Routing), open Settings and disable it. It owns the MX records and won't let you change them.
- Open dash.cloudflare.com, select your domain and go to DNS → Records.
- Delete any MX records that don't point to
mail.syncgaze.in(for exampleroute1.mx.cloudflare.netoraspmx.l.google.com). - Click Add record, set Type MX, Name
@, Mail servermail.syncgaze.in, Priority10, and save. - Add the four TXT records from the table. For SPF, edit the existing
v=spf1record if there is one. Cloudflare takes the long DKIM value as-is.
Cloudflare-specific problems
- "An MX record managed by Email Routing already exists." Email Routing is still on. Disable it (step 1) and try again.
- The orange cloud. MX and TXT records are never proxied, so there's nothing to change. Don't proxy any
mail.A record you create yourself either. - Records don't show up when checked. The domain's nameservers at your registrar must be Cloudflare's (for example
*.ns.cloudflare.com). Otherwise Cloudflare's records aren't used.
Verify and test
- Wait 5–30 minutes after saving. Most changes show up within minutes, but some take up to a few hours.
- Go back to dashboard.syncgaze.in → Domains and click Verify. Each record turns green when SyncGaze can see it.
- Run a free check on mail.syncgaze.in/check. It reads your MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records and explains anything still missing.
- Send a test email to a Gmail address and open Show original. It should show
SPF: PASS,DKIM: PASSandDMARC: PASS.
