Business email on a GoDaddy domain
How to point a domain bought on GoDaddy at SyncGaze Mail, so you get email like you@yourcompany.com. You add five DNS records in GoDaddy's DNS page, and it takes about 10 minutes.
The records SyncGaze needs
Open dashboard.syncgaze.in → Domains → your domain. It lists these records with your exact values and a Copy button next to each. The table shows what they look like for yourcompany.com.
| Type | Name / Host | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| TXT | _syncgaze-verify | syncgaze-verify=… (from your dashboard) | Proves you own the domain |
| MX | @ | mail.syncgaze.in · priority 10 | Delivers your mail to SyncGaze |
| TXT | @ | v=spf1 mx a:mail.syncgaze.in ip4:157.173.222.40 ~all | SPF: lets SyncGaze send as you |
| TXT | dkim._domainkey | v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=… (your own key, from the dashboard) | DKIM: signs your mail |
| TXT | _dmarc | v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; rua=mailto:dmarc@syncgaze.in | DMARC: stops people faking your address |
Only one MX provider and one SPF recordDelete any other MX records, so mail doesn't keep going to your old provider. A domain can have only one TXT record starting with v=spf1. If one already exists, replace it, or merge the two.
Step by step in GoDaddy
- Sign in at godaddy.com and open My Products. Next to your domain, click DNS. You can also go straight to
dcc.godaddy.com/manage/yourcompany.com/dns. - On the DNS Records tab, look for existing MX records such as
mailstore1.secureserver.netor*.mail.protection.outlook.com. Use the pencil/bin icons to delete them. - Click Add New Record, choose MX, then enter Name
@, Valuemail.syncgaze.in, Priority10, TTL 1 hour. Save. - Add a TXT record with Name
_syncgaze-verifyand the verification value from your dashboard. - Add the SPF TXT record with Name
@. If a TXT record starting withv=spf1already exists, edit it instead of adding a second one. - Add the DKIM TXT record with Name
dkim._domainkey, and paste the whole key from your dashboard in one piece. - Add the DMARC TXT record with Name
_dmarc. If GoDaddy already created one, edit it instead.
GoDaddy-specific problems
- "Record name conflicts with another record". GoDaddy won't allow two SPF or DMARC records. Edit the existing record rather than adding a new one.
- Old GoDaddy or Microsoft 365 email. If you had GoDaddy Workspace Email or Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy, its MX and the
include:secureserver.netSPF must go, or mail keeps landing there. Cancel that plan only after your mail has moved. - The DNS page says "Nameservers: not GoDaddy". Your DNS is managed elsewhere, often at Cloudflare or your web host, so add the records there. See the Cloudflare guide.
- Website stopped working? You only add MX and TXT records. Don't change or delete
AorCNAMErecords, which run your website.
Verify and test
- Wait 5–30 minutes after saving. Most changes show up within minutes, but some take up to a few hours.
- Go back to dashboard.syncgaze.in → Domains and click Verify. Each record turns green when SyncGaze can see it.
- Run a free check on mail.syncgaze.in/check. It reads your MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records and explains anything still missing.
- Send a test email to a Gmail address and open Show original. It should show
SPF: PASS,DKIM: PASSandDMARC: PASS.
